Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m., at Bismarck Funeral Home and will resume one hour prior to the funeral on Thursday.
Bill was born on Aug. 7, 1923 in Skogmo to Fred and Lydia (Schuh) Ziegler. On Nov. 6, 1947, he married Ruby Hausauer in McClusky and together they raised their children Peggy, Dan and Pam. Bill was a farmer in the McClusky area, until he and Ruby moved to Bismarck in 1963. Once in Bismarck he first worked for the Bismarck Lumber Company, followed by Kirschman Manufacturing (later becoming the Melroe Company) retiring in 1982. Bill was a handyman who knew how to keep a house a home, by fixing everything that needed a little extra care. His generosity extended into his neighborhood where he was known to offer an extra hand in assisting his neighbors with their home projects.
Bill is survived by his wife Ruby; his three children Peggy (Greg McIntyre), Dan (Beth), and Pam (Dave) Throndset; six grandchildren, Krystal (Joey) Neuman, Stephanie (Gabe) Gust, Nathan, Joshua Christensen, Lindsey (Nick Mazigian) Throndset, and Andrew Throndset; four great-grandchildren, Samantha Keys, Emma Neuman, Graham and Olive Gust; brothers Harold, Arnold and Roger; sisters Alice Stubert, Betty Waller, Janet Wagner and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Walter, Ervin and Herbert; his sisters Freida, Martha, Norma and Esther Wall.
