Janet Joyce Wagner
April 20, 1943 - November 07, 2020

Janet Joyce Wagner, 77, Harvey, ND passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey, ND after a short battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14 at First Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND. The funeral will be streamed on the First Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND Face Book page. Friends may sign the guestbook at Hertz Funeral Home Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Burial will be in the Martin Baptist Cemetery, Martin, ND. CDC and State guidelines will be followed including a mask requirement at the church.

Janet was born on April 20, 1943 in Harvey, ND to Fred and Lydia (Schuh) Ziegler. She grew up near Martin and graduated from high school there.

She was once married to Victor Wagner and they had four daughters, Debbie, Brenda, Paula, and Melissa.

She lived in Harvey where she was employed at different times by Kirton’s Café, St. Aloisius Medical Center as a CNA, and HAV-It Services. She also provided home health care services in the area.

Janet enjoyed reading, puzzle books, playing games with the grandkids, gardening, baking and canning. She was especially known for her sour pickles. They are a favorite of the grandkids (especially Riley and Remi) and are requested at every family gathering and potluck event. Janet's homemade spaghetti sauce was also a family favorite. The last several years she gave canning lessons to Paula, so hopefully these recipes will live on.

Christmas was a favorite time for Janet. It seemed like she baked for weeks on end to make everyone's favorites......sugar cookies, date bars, special K bars and Mexican wedding cakes are just a few of the yearly favorites.

Thanksgiving and Easter were her time to shine making everyone's favorite pies, especially pumpkin (Emma) and chocolate (Leah). No holiday would be complete with out her mashed potatoes and “brown gravy” (Matt's favorite).

Janet is survived by her four daughters, Debbie Blowers of Minot; Brenda Richter of Bismarck, Paula (Kenny) Selensky of Harvey; Melissa (Ramiro) Nunez of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Matthew Richter, Leah Blowers, Riley Nunez, Emma Selensky, Remi Nunez; two great-grandchildren Shylee Blowers and Audrey Bennie Rae Christopherson; sister, Betty Waller; brothers, Harold Ziegler, Arnold Ziegler and Roger Ziegler.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Alice Stubert, Freida Ziegler, Esther Wall, and Norma Ziegler; brothers, Ervin, Herbert, and Bill Ziegler; grandson, Devin Blowers.
