Obituary in The Ballarat Star of Apr. 15, 1915: ALLENDALE. OBITUARY. Profound regret was expressed here when the news became known that Mr's Carolan, relict of the late Mr H. Carolan, had died in Melbourne on Wednesday morning. Deceased had resided here for a great number of years, and reared a large family who are in different parts of the State. Mr P. J. Carolan, a local blacksmith, was one of her sons, and he had only on Tuesday night returned from a visit to his mother, when he received the sad news of her death. The deceased lady was 70 years of age, and was highly respected locally.
