Mr. Glen Henderson Jr., age 71, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday morning, July 23, 2018, at his residence.
He was born November 19, 1946, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Glen and Jewell Swimm Henderson.
Glen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Olive Hill and retired from the Carter County Board of Education as a bus driver and from Empire Detroit Steele. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially with his granddaughter, who was the love of his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Henderson and Thomas Henderson; two sisters, Brenda Cornell and Wilma Sue Henderson; one sister-in-law, Betty Henderson; and a special cousin, Lois Messer.
Glen is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathy Rose Henderson; two daughters and one son-in-law, Jewell and Keith Montgomery, and Glenna Henderson; one granddaughter, Kendra Grace Montgomery; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Karlyn Henderson; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Glenna Pearl and Ernie Bays, and Eloise Andrea Rodriguez. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Landon Copley and Brother Mike Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Tackett Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2018, and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
