Edward Richard Holland II, 85, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018, in Houston, Texas. A native Houstonian, Ed was born to Rufus and Elsa Holland on January 23, 1933. He grew up in the Heights, along with his brother Marion, attending Christ the King Elementary and St. Thomas High School and later received degrees from the University of Houston. He was a proud United States Marine and Korean War Veteran, where he served with the First Marine Division. He ultimately devoted his professional life to teaching, sharing his knowledge of electronics with students at Waltrip High School, Houston Technical Institute, and Houston Community College. Ed shared 38 years of marriage with his beloved wife Sandra Schneider Holland, who he now joins in eternal life with his Heavenly Father. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018, from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 S. Kirkwood, Stafford, TX. Funeral services will be Monday, July 23, 2018, at 10:30am at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Humble, TX.
