Florence E. Kenworthy, 83, of Delphi, died at 7:45 a.m. June 3, 2000, in St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, Delphi.

Born March 16, 1917, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Gladys Hayden Beaver Mullins. She was married Nov. 20, 1937, in Delphi, to Vernon L. Kenworthy, who survives.

She was a graduate of Indianapolis Public School No. 7. Mrs. Kenworthy retired in 1979 from the Delphi Community School Corporation where she worked in the cafeteria and in housekeeping. Prior to that, she worked for the Delphi Canning Factory.

Mrs. Kenworthy was a member of the West Side Flower Club, Delphi, and a member of the former Pittsburg Church of the Brethren which is now part of Living Faith Church of the Brethren. She was a member of the Women’s Fellowship and a Bible School teacher at the church. She also enjoyed bingo, crafts, travel and nickel slots.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Adams and Melody Busch, both of Delphi; a sister, Betty Kirkpatrick of Delphi; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.

Services were Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial was in IOOF Memorial Gardens, Pittsburg.
