A funeral service for Royce Fletcher, age 69, of Jacksonville/Tyler, is scheduled at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon, Tuesday July 24, 2018 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Rev. Brad Turlington will officiate. Mr. Fletcher will be laid to rest at Still Waters Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville.

Mr. Fletcher passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 in Tyler.

Royce was born January 6, 1949 in Palestine, to Roy and Robea Lou Coslett Fletcher.

Royce was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He devoted his life to the safety and security of his family. He was a true patriarch in every sense of the word.

Royce, with the faithful and loving support of his wife, Terri, was the epidemy of an astute businessman for over forty-five years. He was a true venture capitalist. Royce began his business career in the forestry industry, building one of the most successful logging operations in East Texas over a span of twenty or more years. He also owned and operated Higginbotham Engine Service in Tyler, Crosscut Hardwoods, Inc. in Alto, and Glass Texaco in Jacksonville, Texas. Royce and Terri also opened a Firestone tire dealership in Jacksonville, and gained national recognition from Firestone Tire & Rubber, Inc. for more than a decade due to the degree of their success in that venture. Royce was additionally involved in all aspects of the Oil and Gas Industry, real estate sales and acquisition, land development, and was very successful in the financial investment market.

In 1992, Royce became a shareholder in Texas National Bank of Jacksonville, Texas when it was on the brink of failure. Shortly thereafter, he became the bank’s majority shareholder and Chief Executive Officer. Royce, in typical fashion for those who knew him, turned this struggling business into a thriving, successful banking association which now has, in addition to the home office in Jacksonville, branches located in Rusk, Bullard, Marshall, Longview, and two branches in Tyler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond Fletcher; sisters, Mary Ann Fletcher and Judy Gruetzner; and father-in-law, Herman Glass.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Terri Glass Fletcher of Tyler; son, Craig Fletcher of Rusk; daughters, Cristi May and husband Ryan of Tyler, Nicole Hill and husband Steven of Bullard; brothers, Ben Fletcher and wife Penny of Lindale, Joe Fletcher and wife Debbye of Jacksonville; sisters, Jean Thomas of Orange, Kathy Fletcher of Jacksonville; sister-in-laws; Nelda Fletcher of Waco, Judy Moore and husband Byron and Jill Starling and husband Edward of Jacksonville; brother-in-law, Jerry and wife Vicki Glass of Jacksonville; mother-in-law, Berniece Glass; nine grandchildren, Lacey, Lane and Mary Elizabeth Fletcher, Addison, Avery and Jarrett May, Madison Smith, London and Lexington Hill; He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be; Lane Fletcher, Jarrett May, Justin Carney, Austin Bell, Cary Carr, Dustin Epperson.

Visitation will begin on Monday, July 23, 2018 and friends are cordially invited to visit with family from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
