ALICK, George - 74, 21 McFarlane St., Springhill, died November 22, 1996, in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Frank and Regina (Deab) Alick. He was a retailer in groceries, confectionery and hardware for over 50 years. He was former owner and operator of Alick's Hardware Store, Springhill. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces during the Second World War and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17, Springhill. He enjoyed golfing, curling and hunting. Surviving are his wife, the former Nora Fawaz; daughter, Mary Alick, Moncton, N.B.; sons, Donald, Douglas, Springhill; brother, John, Springhill; sister, Lilly (Mrs. Edward Michael), Charlottetown, P.E.I.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by son, Carl. Funeral was held November 23 in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, Rev. Brent MacDonald officiated. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
