Larry Elrick Donaldson, age 61, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 19, 2018 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Larry was born February 9, 1957, in Peoria, a son of Willard and Doris (Lilya) Donaldson.
He married the love of his life, Myrna Lardizabal on June 2, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Thousand Oaks, CA. She survives. Also surviving are stepsons, Rene Francis Lardizabal (Sarah) and Karl Henry Lardizabal (Bernadeth), stepdaughters, Mary Angelique Lardizabal and Julie Anne Lardizabal, brothers, Gary Donaldson (Cindy) and Robert Donaldson (Beth), sisters, Pam Fenwick and Vickie Donaldson, nephews, Justin Fenwick (Lisa), Todd Donaldson, Darius Donaldson, Antoine Buckley (Melissa) and niece, Rachel Petraitis (Mike).
Larry grew up in Peoria, IL. He graduated from Franklin Grade School and Peoria High School in 1975. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree Instructional Unit: Delinquent Study/Youth Development Center with a major in Human Services and a minor in Speech Communication at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville in June 1980. He finished his Masters of Science Degree in Instructional Design and Technology at Western Illinois University in May 2008.
Larry was a member of United States Professional Tennis Association for 27 years. He was also a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA). Larry enjoyed playing baseball and basketball. He also loved golfing and playing the guitar.
Larry will be with us in spirit at a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Peoria Heights Congregational Church, 4906 N. Prospect Rd., Peoria Heights, IL. A visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until time of service, also at the church. Pastor Brian Michael will officiate. Burial will follow in Historical Springdale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of PNC Bank.
