Williston - Mrs. Nellie Porter Bolen, 77, widow of Ralph Bolen, died Thursday at a Lexington County hospital. Born in Barnwell County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Dena Livingston Porter. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charlie (Doris) Cathey of West Columbia and Mrs. Ruth B. Schumpert of Williston two sons, Clyde Lothell and Marvin Bolen of Orangeburg; four sisters, Mrs. Lillian Eidson and Mrs. Olive Lott of Williston, Mrs. Eunice Wall of Blackville and Mrs. Ryson (Tincie) Carroll of Spartanburg; a brother, Clyde Porter of Williston; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be 5 p.m. Saturday at Folk Funeral Home, with burial in Barnwell County Memory Gardens. © The State, Columbia, SC, 16 May 1980
