Hillie W. Porter, Sr.
Williston — Hillie W. Porter, Sr., 72, died Friday in Lexington County Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Barnwell County, he was a son of the late Henry and Deana Livingston Porter. Mr. Porter was a retired carpenter.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dixie Boylston Porter; two daughters, Mrs. Ergie Robinson and Mrs. Willis Crain of Chester; five sons, the Rev. Van H. Porter of West Columbia, Van C. Porter of Ballentine, Dr. Neal D. Porter of West Columbia, Hillie W. Jr. and Gene Porter of Williston; five sisters, Mrs. Nellie Bolen of Elko, Mrs. Lillian Eidson and Mrs. Olive Lott of Williston, Mrs. Eunice Wall of Blckville and Mrs. Ryson Carroll of Spartanburg; a brother, Clyde Porter of Williston; 18 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Folk Funeral Home with burial in Williston Cemetery.
