Winger, Beverly Ransom

Beverly Ransom Winger May 25, 1936 - July 19, 2018 Beverly Ransom Winger, our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, returned to her Heavenly Father on July 19, 2018. She was born May 25, 1936, in Preston, Idaho, to Heber James and Velma Prescott Ransom. Her parents didn't think they were able to have any more children, so they were thrilled when they found out she was coming, and they were delighted to get their first and only daughter. Her parents doted on her, and her brothers Max, Jay and Ted spoiled her. Beverly spent most of her life in Idaho except for a few short years she lived in Utah. She enjoyed traveling whenever she could. She especially enjoyed spending time in the mountains. She married Joseph Larry Winger on May 4, 1955. The were blessed with five children: Robyn (Reed) Blau, Richmond, UT; Todd (Georgia) Winger, Clifton, ID; Melanie (Deceased), Laurie Jo (Michael) Earley, Hyde Park, UT; and Shawn Winger, Salt Lake City, UT. Beverly worked many years serving the community as a nurse. She worked for 9 years for Dr. Hale and 20 years in the Franklin County Nursing Home. She and Larry were also EMTs for Franklin County for a short time. Beverly was an avid reader, which kept her busy when she had rheumatic fever as a child, and later was a source of comfort in the years she spent alone. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing a lot of her children's clothing when they were young. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and scrapbooking. Beverly loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was very important to her. Beverly was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed serving in all auxiliaries. She had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and the plan of salvation, which was a great source of strength to her family. We know we will all be with her again. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents Heber and Velma; brothers: Max, Jay, Claude, and Ted; daughter Melanie; granddaughters: Jennifer, Heather and Holly Jo Hollingsworth; great-grandchildren: Larry Joseph Blau, LaCayden Jo and Preslee Cayde Rodriguez. Beverly is survived by her two daughters Robyn and Laurie Jo and two sons Todd and Shawn, 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. We would like to thank the staff at Heritage Home for her care the last 9 months. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 23, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Preston South Stake Center, 55, E. 100 South, in Preston. A viewing will be held Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
