Mrs. Mabel Price Dies; LDS Church Ex-Official
Mrs. Mabel Alexander Price, 86, former president of the Third Ward Relief Society and a counselor in the Phoenix Stake Relief Society Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, died Sunday in Village Green Nursing Home.
Mrs. Price, 207 E. Hayward, was the widow of J. R. Price, a leader in the LDS Church, insurance executive and former president of the Arizona LDS Temple in Mesa.
She served as matron of the Arizona Temple and accompanied her husband when he presided over the Central Atlantic Mission of the Church from 1948 to 1953. Born in Heber City, Utah she came to Phoenix 69 years ago from Salt Lake City.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Carol Daynes and Mrs. Marilyn Adams, both of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Marjorie Allen of Phoenix; two sons, Dr. Robert A. Price and Reed E. Price; and a brother, Blaine H. Alexander, all of Phoenix; a sister, Mrs. Carol Blied of San Mateo, California; 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow in the LDS 16th Ward Chapel, 8710 N. Third Ave. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today in Memory Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 719 N. 29th Avenue and from 9:30 a.m. until service time tomorrow at the church. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Memorial Park.
