Obituary for Pastor Robert M. Jacoby, Sr.
Pastor Robert M. Jacoby, Sr. age 87, of Carpentersville passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus in the comfort of his earthly home and surrounded by his family on Sunday evening, July 15, 2018. Pastor Jacoby was born on July 10, 1931 in Schuylkill Haven, PA and was the son of the late John & Mary Jacoby. He was a resident of the Carpentersville area for over 30 years and was Pastor of Bible Baptist Church and Christian Academy in Carpentersville as well as a very proud United States Navy Veteran having served for 20 years including the Korean War and Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife of 44 years; Diane K., their children; Robert M., Jr. (Sandy) and John K. Jacoby, Susan (Paul) Lehman, Sharon Jacoby and Diane (Stephen) Briddick. Other survivors include his 11 grandchildren, Candy, Paula, Jeremy, Jesse, Angel, Dalyce, Emilie, Grace, Natalia, Ashton & Ava; 5 great grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Tanya, Preston & Carter; and great great granddaughter, Caydence; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, Pastor Jacoby was preceded in death by his grandson; Gage, his brothers; John, Alfred, Carl, Dean and Dave and sisters; Janet and Patricia. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until time of Funeral Services at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Bible Baptist Church, 1701 Papoose Road in Carpentersville with Pastor John Doerr, officiating. Private family burial with military honors will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. Please omit flowers, a memorial in care of his family has been established. The Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee has been entrusted with assisting the family with all services.
