William Younie of Schaller, Iowa, passed away suddenly at his home Saturday evening from a heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Whalen made their home with Mr. Younie and they were away from home at the time of his death but returned shortly after and found the body on the kitchen porch. Although Mr. Younie had not been enjoying the best of health he was not ill when Mr. and Mrs. Whalen left and his death was very unexpected.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Schaller Tuesday afternoon and burial was made there. Relatives from here who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Alex Younie, James Younie, Mr. and Mrs. Art Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Witt, Mr. and Mrs. S.Q. French, Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Younie, Mrs. R.W. Younie, Mrs. L.R. Carsten and Will White.
William Younie, who was 84 years of age last February, was born in Canada but came to Iowa when about 7 years of age, locating at Manchester. When 20 years of age he moved to Odebolt and was married there. In 1893 he moved to Schaller and since then made his home there. There were four sons in the family, three of whom preceded their father in death. Howard and Art, died overseas during World War and another son, Bert, passed away about eight years ago. His wife passed away five or six years ago. He is survived by one son, Richard Younie, and three grandchildren. He also leaves three brothers, Alex and James Younie of Hawarden and David Younie of Mitchell, S.D., and one sister, Mrs. Jeanett Bruce of Garber, Okla.
