In 1956 Martha's love of the organ and her strong Catholic faith led her to an additional career as a church organist and choir director. She began at St. Richard of Chichester in south Philadelphia, where she remained for 25 years. She became organist and choir director, then Director of Music at St. Maria Goretti Church in Runnemede, New Jersey and remained there 32 years until she retired in 2017.

She attended college part-time at Glassboro State while raising her daughters, caring for her aging mother and teaching as many as 40 concurrent piano students. She proudly graduated with a BA in Music in 1983 after performing her senior organ solo recital and began teaching Art, Music, and English and directing the school musicals at Gloucester Catholic High School.

Martha was an active member of Holy Child Parish, St. Maria Goretti Church where she served on the Liturgical Committee and was instrumental in the RCIA program.
