Robert George "Bob" Beyer

Early Life: Robert "Bob" was born July 11, 1950, to Clarence Albert George Beyer and LuVerne Maxine Haugness Beyer, in Malta, Montana, where he was also raised. He spent his youth helping at his dad’s service station and in his mother’s garden, along with his three brothers and two sisters. He graduated from Malta High School.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: Bob then attended the Helena College of Technology where he earned his airplane mechanics degree. He worked for two years at the Glasgow Air Force Base; then, in 1973, he went to work for The Montana Power Company in the natural gas division in Cut Bank. He later lived in Big Sandy and Havre before making Butte his home in 1991. In 2013, Bob retired from Northwestern Energy (MPC) after 40 years of service to the company. Throughout his life, Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, water ski and camp with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed his time hunting and bugling elk with his sons, Dirk and Eric, spending time at Dirk’s cabin with family, and fishing with Eric. He was a Griz and Packers football fan, winemaker, beer brewer, and camp cook. In his retirement, he also enjoyed helping his friends with various home improvement projects, working on his own house, and attending his grandchildren’s numerous sporting events. On Tuesday, July 10, 2018, one day before his 68th birthday, Robert “Bob” George Beyer, passed away while vacationing in Columbia Falls, Montana.
Survived By: His sons: Dirk (Teri) Beyer, of Hamilton; Eric (Jill Gerdrum) Beyer, of Missoula; grandchildren: Royal, Grayden, Sage, Crimson, Greta and Klara Beyer; siblings: Richard (Debbie) Beyer, Betsy (Arnie) Wirth, Bonnie (Harvey) Nichols, Roger (Bobbie) Beyer, Randy (Jennifer) Beyer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded In Death By: His parents and granddaughter, Indigo Beyer.
