Karen Melba Arnell Welch passed away July 9, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Karen was born December 27, 1940 to William DeLoyd Arnell and Melba Rich Pugmire Arnell in Montpelier, Idaho. She graduated 3rd in her class from Montpelier High School with 12 years Perfect Attendance. She received a bachelor's degree from BYU. She served a two-year mission in Paris, France. She worked for the Dept. of Business Education and retired from Jordan School District in 2006.
She met and married Robert Dennis Welch Aug 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple. In addition to Denny's two sons, Steve and John, they were blessed with three more children, Mike, Jeff, and Susan. She enjoyed music, reading books, watching BYU football, and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband of 47 years, her five children Steve (Marie Welch, John Welch, Michael (Patricia) Welch, Jeff (Brandy) Welch and Susan dWelch, her siblings Carolyn (Wayne) Tufts, Lonny (Mary Louise) Arnell, 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Mountain Shadows 7th LDS Ward Chapel in West Jordan, Utah, with interment in the St Charles, Idaho Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Brighton Home Health and Hospice for the great care of our mother in her last days.
