Adelaide Little DuPre, 96, formerly of 204 Greenville St. and resident of Brookdale Assisted Living passed away peacefully Sunday July 8, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Greenwood, SC.

Born June 8, 1922 in Abbeville, SC she was a daughter of the late Joe Hamilton Little and Antoinette Thomson Little. She was the widow of William “Bill” Clarkson DuPre.

Adelaide spent her career in banking having retired in 1982 as an Assistant Vice President with Bankers Trust. She was a lifelong member of Abbeville Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School and was a Circle Leader. She was a member of the Adult Fellowship Sunday School Class and was for many years Treasurer of Presbyterian Women. Adelaide was a member of the Literary Lantern Book Club and was a member of the Bridge Club. She was also a Hospital Volunteer with Abbeville Area Medical Center.

The family would like to extend a big THANK YOU to the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living and Hospice of South Carolina for their kind and loving care of their loved one.

Survivors include: her daughter Anne Motsinger (Jay) of Greenwood, SC; four grandchildren Lynne McDaniel (Greg) of Johnston, SC; Lee Lee Lee (Steve) of Greenwood, SC; Jeff Gabriel (Kate) of San Diego, CA and Maribeth Gabriel of Lexington, SC: eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Jo Case.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday July 11, 2018 at 3:00 PM in Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Henley officiating. The burial will be private in Long Cane Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday July 11, 2018 from 1:00 until 2:45 PM at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home prior to services. The family is at the home of her daughter Anne Motsinger 903 Olde Puckett Ferry Rd. Greenwood, SC 29649.

Memorials in memory of Adelaide may be made to Abbeville Presbyterian Church PO Box 733, Abbeville, SC 29620 or to Hospice of South Carolina 326 Montague Ave. Greenwood, SC 29646.
