J.L., age 87, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018. He was a resident of Pumpkin Center, LA. J.L. proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was an extremely hard worker and took great pride in providing for his family. J.L. was a self employed contractor, owner operator of Morrison Well Drilling Services, and the owner of "The Jesus Loves You" Hardware Store in Ponchatoula, LA. He was a loving husband, amazing father, and wonderful friend who will be deeply missed.
J.L is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Janice Davis Morrison; daughters, Sue (Kelcy Himel), Cheryl Tyler (Hoody); and sons, Johnny Morrison, Jimmy Morrison (Melanie), Jeremy Morrison (Delta). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chad and Cody Babb, Blake, Craig, and Jamie Tyler, Brett, Kyle, and Kole Morrison, Whitney Stewart, and Blayne and Clancey Morrison; 12 great- grandchildren; and sisters, Ruth "Skay" Frazier, Phyllis Newsom, Tricia Sziber, Judy Mathes, and Jeannie Adamson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward C. and Ruth Bankston Morrison; grandson, Nicholas Morrison; great-grandson, Trevor Howard; brothers, "Boog", Ed, and Frank Morrison; and sister, Marie "Tee" Hershey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson, Hammond, on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Jerusalem Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Rev Lamar Duke will officiate and interment will follow in the church Cemetery.
