Ann (Vanery) Adams, 87, of Renton, Plum, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at home.
Born Sept. 25, 1918, in South Fayette, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Lukes Vanery. She served as the first president of the Plum Borough School District Education Support Professionals Local 952668. She was a member of St. John Orthodox Church, New Kensington, the Renton Firemen's Auxiliary and AARP.
Surviving are a son, David A. Adams of Palm Springs, Fla.; a daughter, Sharman (William) Waterman of Vero Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Andrew (Stephanie) Vanery of Plum; and three sisters, Marie Blubaugh of Arnold, Helen (Walter) Krall of Lower Burrell, and Jule Bertocki of the Braburn section of Lower Burrell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd "Sarge" Adams, whom she married in June 1943.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the STEPHEN P. DOLENCE JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., 1519 Renton Road, Plum. Burial service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home by the Rev. Paul Ziatyk, pastor of St. John Orthodox Church. Burial will be in Plum Creek Cemetery. There will be a Parastas service at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
