Cliff moved to Newcastle with his family when he was three years old. He attended Lindsay Ridge School until the 7th grade and later graduated from Newcastle High School with the class of 1949.
Cliff married his high school sweetheart, Jimmie Ferguson on April 20, 1951. Together they raised two children, Steve and Carol and worked together running a dairy and farming. Cliff worked as a dairy farmer for 42 years and then continued to farm until his retirement in 2010 at the age of 79.
Cliff supported his community by serving on the Newcastle City Council and as the Newcastle City Mayor for several years. He was a member of the Newcastle First Baptist Church for 69 years. He was a supporter of the Newcastle FFA and was so proud of his grandchildren. Throughout their life, Clifford and Jimmie enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. He will be remembered as a happy man who constantly whistled while he worked.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, Brock and Beulah Dean; 4 Sisters, Pearl Smith, Hester Smith, Ida Whitten and Gladys Auwen; 2 brothers, Odis Dean and Haulby Dean;
He is survived by: Wife, Jimmie Dean of the home in Newcastle, Son, Steve Dean of Norman, Daughter, Carol Thompson and husband Gary of Newcastle, 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM, Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Newcastle First Baptist Church in Newcastle, OK. A visitation with family and friends will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday, July 10, at Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle. Interment will be at the Washington Cemetery.
