Anne Acland-Troyte was born on 12 June 1912 in Kensington, London. She was the daughter of Herbert Walter Acland-Troyte and Marjorie Florence Pym.

She married, firstly, Robert Egerton Grosvenor (1914-1957), 5th Baron Ebury, son of Francis Egerton Grosvenor, 4th Baron Ebury and Mary Adela Glasson, on 1 July 1933. She and Robert Egerton Grosvenor, 5th Baron Ebury were divorced in 1941.

She married, secondly, Henry Peregrine Rennie Hoare (1901-1981), son of Henry Hoare and Lady Geraldine Mariana Hervey, on 23 December 1941. She and Henry Peregrine Rennie Hoare were divorced in 1947.

She married, thirdly, Lt.-Col. Frederick Edwin Barton Wignall (1906-1956) on 13 November 1947. He died 9 November 1956.

She married, fourthly, Anthony Freire Marreco (1915-2006), son of Geoffrey Freire Marreco, on 25 September 1961.
