Her maiden name was Nancy Tuggle and she was born in Kentucky on May 10th, 1843. She was married March 2nd, 1867 to Franklin Hamon. They moved from Kentucky to Peru, Kansas, in 1874. After living there six months they took a homestead in Elk county. They moved in two years to Cowley county and back again to Chautauqua county in 1879. They lived on a farm west of Sedan until 1882 when they took up residence in Sedan. Mr. Hamon died in 1886 and one daughter, Susie died in 1895.
