The youngest of seven children, Gertrude was born in Randolph County September 30, 1919 to Warren and Erva (Bradford) Moore. Gertrude resided most of her life in Randolph County, retired from the Foundry Division of Overmyer Mould in 1984, was a member of the Countryside Christian Church (formerly Main Street Christian), and a proud 1937 Graduate of Wayne High School. Gertrude was a member of various organizations including the Randolph Historical Society, DAR, 50 Extension Homemakers, Birthday Club, Bunco Club, volunteered at 4H Fair and spent many hours researching and documenting her passion for family history.
Survivors include her daughter Marlene (Larry) Barnes Winchester, IN., son Ron (Anna) Ayres Gahanna, OH., Son-in-law Myron Cougill Modoc, IN, Grandchildren Michael (Ginger) Cougill, Modoc, IN, Michelle McGunegill (Randy Tutterow), Economy, IN, Shawnda (Robert) Bond Winchester, IN, Andrea (Zac) Sinnamon Peru, IN, Matt (Erin) Ayres Westerville, OH, Chrissy (Chris) Urian Westerville, OH, Andy (Beth) Ayres Kettering, OH, 15 great grandchildren Logan Cougill, Simon Cougill, Lane Cougill, Austin Bond, Brooke Bond, Spencer Ayres, Megan Ayres, Molly Ayres, Travis Ayres, Annie Ayres, Mary Ayres, Nellie Ayres and 3 great great grandchildren John Cougill, Harper Cougill and Weston Bond. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Gertrudes life will be at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial will follow at the Fountain Park Cemetery.
Calling will be two hour prior to services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Randolph County Historical Society. Envelopes will be provided at the Walker Funeral Home.
