He was born on May 26, 1916, in Winchester to Warren and Erva (Bradford) Moore.
He was a graduate of Wayne Township High School and was also a World War II Army Air Force veteran. He was a farmer in the Lynn area for many years. He was a member of the Lynn Masonic Lodge and he enjoyed collecting Indian arrowheads.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara "Bobbie" (husband Edwin "Joe" Slick), Lynn, Loretta Auker, Lynn; three grandchildren, Brian (wife Hilary) Slick, Pendleton, Greg (wife Kim) Slick, Lynn, Angie (husband Jeff) Covey, Bloomington; five great-grandchildren, Steffan and Alexandra Slick, Pendleton, Kyle and Korey Slick, Lynn, and Sarah Avery Covey, Bloomington; and a sister, Gertrude Ayers, Winchester.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mabel M. (Cox) Moore in 2000; a son, Lewis Moore; two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Thomas Funeral Home, Lynn. Burial will follow in Spartanburg Cemetery, Spartanburg.
Calling hours will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2005, at the funeral home.
