Haskell Devon Toney, age 67, died on Sunday, June 17, 2018, in his home. His wife, daughter, and son-in-law held him as he passed. Haskell was born in Yakima to Arnold and Eddie (Thrasher) Toney. He was the sixth of seven children.

Haskell loved growing up in East Selah and had a full life of sports. He played varsity baseball for four years and after graduating from Selah High School played legion baseball while attending Yakima Valley College. He went on to play softball for twenty-five years. After softball, Haskell became an avid golfer with his friend, Larry Bender. But then his brother, Don, introduced Haskell to Lake Roosevelt and that was it. He spent the next twenty plus years fishing and boating. This was definitely his favorite place to be.

Haskell was married to Gini (Tyrrell) Staton of Selah and they had their darling daughter, Emily, in 1980. In 1993, Haskell married Barbara (Andrews) Batrum. They were lucky to have met. They were lucky to have had twenty-five years of marriage together, and they were blessed to have loved each other to the very end. Haskell was a proud union carpenter for thirty-two years. He worked for Frenzel Construction and R.P. Lewis Construction, mainly with his best friend, Ron Turner.

Haskell is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Emily (Toney) Schwan, son-in-law, Ryan Schwan, granddaughters, Sadie and Lila, and his sisters and brothers, Barbara (Dennis) Whitcher Drenda (Lloyd) Toney, Don (Rachel) Toney, and Cecil Toney. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.

Haskell is preceded in death by his mother, Eddie Mae Toney, father, Arnold Haskell Toney, and brothers, Bill (Anne) Toney and Bob Toney.A Celebration of Haskells Life will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Brookside Funeral Home (500 W.
