Funeral services for Jessie A. Moss, 80, of Sundown will be 2 p.m. today, April 26, 2007, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Levelland, with Rev. Sylvan Cargile, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under direction of George Price Funeral Home. He died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Lynnwood Manor in Levelland.
Born on Jan. 8, 1927, in Dawson County, he resided in and around Hockley County all of his life. He farmed and was a heavy equipment operator in the oilfield until his retirement. He was preceded in death by a son, James Earl Moss in 1952; his parents; and a brother, James Karl Moss.
Survivors include his children, Ethel Moss of Ardmore, Okla., Betty Lou Simpson of Harris, Ark., Donna Kay Brinchman of Sundown, and Jessie Lee Moss of Levelland; his sisters, Mary Lue Graf of Lubbock, Betty Jo Rost of Iowa Park, and Lena Lois Laxton of Brownfield; his grandchildren, Darla Ann York , Kayla Lynn Apolinar, Roy Durham, Michael Andrew Brinchman, Jaime Eugene Easterwood and Karen Louise Easterwood, all of Ardmore, Okla., Kimberly Dawn Easterwood of Lubbock, Jason Lee Hickman of Honolulu, Hawaii, Michelle Lee Moss of Lubbock, Trisha Ann Underwood of Andrews, Tonya Sue Underwood of Uvalde; thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
