John was a son of John Francis Perry & Lucy Ida Chaldecott (not verified)
He cut a track through the bush and brought the first sheep into Tinui and through to nearby Annedale. His descendants, to this day, are large sheep farmers in the district and later, Fred Maunsell built an airstrip on the farm for the use of all farmers
