Stephen Jeffreys was widely known as a minister during the Welsh Revival. He had been a miner for several years when the Welsh Revival broke out. Stephen began to preach on the streets, even though he had no seminary training. In the town of Maesteg he preached so long that it grew dark and they had to bring a lamp for him to continue. God had called him to be an evangelist. Evan Roberts was the leader of the burning move in Wales. Later in his life when asked who was significant in the revival he stated "Beyond all those I know - Stephen Jeffreys." Stephen was a pastor in Llanelly from 1912 to 1920.
Jeffreys and his brother George traveled to the US and met Aimee Semple McPherson. They invited McPherson to preach in England and began to see significant healings in their meetings. Stephen ministered in the United States, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Sweden, and Norway. Stephen overtaxed himself and his health began to fail. In the 1930s he moved into retirement and lived with his daughter May in Porthcawl, Wales. A more extensive biography can be found at the Healing and Revival website.
