NOTE: It was Anne (Allin) Brown, not Anne Waterman (b.1696, daughter of John Waterman [1666-1728] and Anne Olney Waterman [1668-1745]), who was John Tillinghast's third wife according to recent research. (Wayne G. Tillinghast, "John Tillinghast's Third Wife," Rhode Island Roots 19 (June 1993): 36-41 -- Rhode Island Genealogical Society, Inc., 2007). Note this is additionally supported by the age given on the stone.

A cenotaph may exist for her here near her first husband's burial in the Ancient Little Neck Cemetery in East Providence.

She married, first, about 1720, Josiah Brown.

She married, second, on Jun 19,1731 at Rehoboth,MA, John Tillinghast.

Children(by first marriage): Allen Brown and Amey Brown.

Children(by second marriage): Thomas Tillinghast, Joseph Tillinghast, and Amy Tillinghast.
