Dr. Dennis K. "Denny" Kennedy (December 22, 1923 - June 26, 2018) will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend to all who knew him.

Born 94 years ago to Marshall Munson Kennedy and Neva Lillian (Coffman) Kennedy in Goree, Texas, Denny was the second of three children.

His sister, Marsha Fritter, and brother, Walter Kennedy, preceded him in death.

At the age of 18, after his graduation from Roscoe High School, Denny enlisted into the United States Navy as a Sonarman First Class, where he served his country from 1942 to 1946.

On December 24, 1947, Denny married Mary Jo Anderson, in Lubbock, Texas.

In 1952, Denny graduated from the University of Texas School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Following dental school, Denny and Mary Jo moved to Lubbock and had two daughters, Suzanne and Karen.

Denny owned his own practice and was a member of the South Plains District Dental Society. Denny also practiced in Liberty and Cleveland, Texas and was a member of the Texas Dental Association for over 50 years.

After Denny retired from Dentistry, he partnered with Louie Potetz and managed Louie’s Ready Mix until he and Mary Jo retired in 1998 and moved to Sun City.

Denny is survived by his two daughters: Suzanne Kennedy of New York, NY and Karen Kennedy of Asheville, NC; nieces: Zacki Gutzke, Zenda Payne, Traci Beamon, Sandra Fritter-Natali, Linda Miller, and Sunny Wood; as well as his nephew, Steve Kennedy.
