Mary Jo Kennedy, age 89, of Georgetown, Texas passed away on November 10, 2013 in Georgetown.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Grace Episcopal Church in Georgetown.

Mary Jo Kennedy ("Jo") (October 18, 1924 - November 10, 2013) will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and friend to all who knew her. Jo was a member of the Vestry at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Liberty and active in ECW at Grace Episcopal Church in Georgetown.
Born 89 years ago to Ponella and James Thomas Anderson in Tahoka, Texas, Jo was the second of five children. Three sisters, Tommye Ruth, Johnnie Mae and Billie Faye all preceded her in death. Her brother, James Thomas Anderson Jr., lives in Nashville, TN.
Jo married Dennis Kennedy ("Denny") on December 24, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas and had two daughters, Suzanne and Karen, after Denny finished dental school in Houston.
Graduating from Tahoka High School, Jo attended McMurry College in Abilene. She moved to Lubbock and worked for the manager of Hemphill Wells, a well-known department store. Jo continued her education at Lee College, Baytown, after moving to Liberty with Denny and the girls in 1968.
Jo went to work for Tom Poynor (Poynor Corporation) in Liberty where she enjoyed a successful career as Vice President and Office Manager. Retiring in 1997, she and Denny moved to Sun City (Georgetown), Texas.
Jo is survived by her beloved husband, Denny, her two daughters, Suzanne Kennedy of Austin, TX and Karen Kennedy of Greenville, SC, nieces Zacki Gutzke, Zenda Payne, Traci Beamon, Sandra Fritter-Natali, Linda Miller, and Sunny Wood, and nephew Steve Kennedy.
