A homemaker and a resident of Estherwood, she died Monday, June 6, 2005, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Lafayette. She was 61, a native of Jennings and a former resident of Pointe Coupee Parish and Commerce, Texas. She was an organ donor. Visiting at Miguez Funeral Home, Lake Arthur, from 2:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, June 9, and from 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Friday, June 10. Religious service at St. Margaret Catholic Church, Estherwood, at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Thomas Habetz.
Interment in Estherwood Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Philip Myers Sr. of Estherwood; a daughter and son-in-law, Nadine and Eddy Creswell of Gainesville, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Philip Jr. and Jill Myers of Church Point and Mitchell and Amy Myers of Rice Lake, Wis.; sister, Patricia Vincent of Lake Arthur; two brothers, Sonny and Bobby Abshire, both of Lake Arthur; and five grandchildren, Lydia Bolder, Blake and Austin Creswell, Maeve and Sean Myers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Mary Sonnier Abshire; and two brothers, Logan Abshire and R. Carl Abshire, who was of Baton Rouge.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Sonnier, Danny, Barry, Allen and Bart Abshire, Blake Creswell, Rich Antoine and Chad Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth, Ronnie and Johnny Sonnier, Austin Creswell and Sean and Maeve Myers.She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society.
