Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Alfred Clinton and Elpie Nix Bryson.
He graduated from Parker High School in 1960 and attended Brevard College. He retired as an inspector for Piedmont Natural Gas and was a member of Washington Avenue Church of God.
Surviving are daughters, Donna Gibbs and husband, Joe, and Kim Bailey and husband, Pete, all of Greenville; grandchildren, Jennifer Gibbs, Corey Gibbs and Drew Bailey and wife, Anna; and longtime sweetheart, Judy Shirley of Greenville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Bryson.
Burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
