He was born on April 28th 1943 in Sudbury, Vt., he was the son of Romeo Leo and Katherine Lillian (Gorton) Bertrand.
He attended Otter Valley Union High School.
Mr. Bertrand joined the U.S. Army in 1962, later, the U.S. Navy in 1965, and he served in Viet Nam.
He married Priscilla Margaret Bryant on February 4th 1967 in Forest Dale, Vermont.
He had a lifelong career Driving Truck, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Brandon American Legion Post #55 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Bertrand enjoyed fishing and was an avid reader.
He was predeceased by his parents; his father Romeo Bertrand on August 11th 1983 and his mother Katherine Bertrand on July 17th 2004, and one brother; Lucien E. Gorton on December 31st 2013.

The graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 7th 2018 at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Brandon, Vt.
