Maurine (Jones) is now safe in the arm's of Jesus. Her suffering is no more. She departed this life April 23, 2007. Born January 1, 1917 in Elkins, Arkansas to Virgil Claud and Eva Elzada (Scoles) Jones.

She graduated from Central High School, Oklahoma City in 1936. She worked many years as secretary for Bowman's Brace & Appliance and many other's, as well as at Agnew Baptist Church filling many positions. Maurine was always the caregiver, never wanting to be the care receiver.

She married Oren L. Dixon June 14, 1936.

Survived by daughter, Melba L. (Dixon-Clifton) Banker and son-in-law, Alvin Harold. Also numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and several great- great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, husband, former son-inlaw, Alton Clifton, grandson, Glenn, and many dear family members and friends.

Our Family wants to praise the excellent care she received while at Brookhaven Extensive Care Nursing Home, Heartland Plaza of Moore, and Norman Regional Hospital. Also, the physical therapists who came to her home.

Services ~ Friday, April 27, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, Norman, OK, under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service. Interment was at Resthaven Cemetery, located at 104th and South Western, OKC.
