McKinley Hartford Tweed of 26 Hartford Tweed Road, Marshall, NC passed away on June 27, 2018. He was born in the Spillcorn section of Madison County on January 25, 1927 and had resided in Madison County all his life. He was a member of the Walnut Presbyterian Church. He was owner and operated Hartford Tweed Lumber Company in the Walnut Gap section for 35 years.

He was a very loving, caring person of friends and family. He was the son of the late William McKinley Tweed and Della Ray Tweed. He was predeceased and deeply saddened by the loss of his wife of 65 years, Jeanette Shelton Tweed. He is also predeceased by his sisters: Monella Czerniak, Savonia Cantrell, Cleo Blake, Millure Gentry, Inez Franklin, and Etta Hensley.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Pastor Pat Hardy, Revs. Raymond Cantrell and Jimmy Dean Hensley will officiate. Burial will follow in Bowman-Rector Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service.
