NORFOLK - Evangelist Margaret Lee McElroy, 79, of the 1800 block of Berkley Ave., was called home to be with the Lord February 2, 2003. She was a homemaker and was educated in the Isle of Wight Public School System. She was a member of Prayer of Deliverance Center where Dr. Bishop Reid is pastor.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert McElroy; her three sons, Holand Butler Jr., Melvin Butler and Herbert Butler; a sister, Mildred McMillan; and a brother, Joe Drew Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Rosa L. Taylor of Norfolk; a son, Joe Butler and wife Debra of Chesapeake; a special granddaughter and loving caregiver, Andrea Gibson of Chesapeake; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Butler; two sisters, Nellie Wells and Elizabeth Benn; four brothers, Robert Drew, Ollie Drew, Oscar Drew and Arthur Drew; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be conducted Saturday at noon in Mount Zion Baptist Church in Berkley. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
