She was born on June 4, 1947 in Bedford, IN to William L. and Thelma (Roach) Rainey. She married David Owens on September 11, 1963 in Otterbein, IN and he survives.
She was a cook at the South Street Nursing home for many years. Wanda owned 5 semi-trucks. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and belonged to the Goldwing Road Riders Association. She loved to shop, go out to eat and get her hair and nails done. Wanda also loved spoiling her grandbabies and great-grandbabies and spending time with her family.
Along with her husband, she is survived by one son; five siblings; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Deborah LeFevers; son, Michael R. Owens; brothers, John Rainey, Bill Rainey and Buddy Rainey; and sister, Erma Rainey.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 1pm at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
