1945 - 2018
Jeannie was born at Our Lady Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles, California on July 26, 1945 to Agnes Stephana (Varela) and Fred Valdez. Both parents predeceased Jeannie. Jeanie passed away June 24, 2018, she was the oldest of three siblings. Nannette Elaine (Valdez) Bruck predeceased Jeannie.
Jeannie was schooled in the Los Angeles Archdiocesan school system and graduated from Bishop Alemany High School in 1964. On November 21, 1964 she married her long time boy-friend, Gary Deane Poole at St. Elisabeth Catholic Church in Van Nuys. The couples' first child, Elaine Marie (Poole) Richards was born on September 9, 1965. Elaine predeceased her mother on June 3, 2004.
Jeannie found time to get involved in her favorite hobby … flower arranging. She went to work with Cathy and Leonard Chant, owners of Tom's Orchid Flower Shop in Quartz Hill; and she eventually became the owner of the shop, serving the local community for many years.
When Blessed Junipero Serra Parish (now Saint Serra Parish) was forming, Jeannie became very active … in prayer and service to the new community.
