Eldon W. Grimm, age 72 of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on June 25, 2018 after a lengthy illness.

Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Rev. Timothy Wenger will officiate. Visitation will be at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wiscosnin Rapids, WI from 4:00-7:00 PM Monday and Tuesday at the Church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery.

Eldon was born October 2, 1945 in Wisconsin Rapids to Victor and Kathryn (Johnson) Grimm. Throughout his school years he excelled in sports which included wrestling, track, baseball and football. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965 and retired from Kerry Ingredients, Vesper after 30 years as a dryer operator.

Eldon married Jean (Johnson) on June 19, 1971 in Wisconsin Rapids. They were blessed with 47 years of marriage. They were members of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.

Eldon loved spending time with nieces and nephews and then with his own sons. He never missed going to their sporting events and was their biggest fan. They were his greatest joy.

Eldon's favorite hobbies were watching the Packers, fishing and hunting. He especially loved bird hunting with his beloved German Shorthaired Pointers, which he raised for 40 years. He was a member of the Wilderness Sportsmen's Club.

Eldon had a generous heart and was always ready to help someone out. He loved smoking hams, turkeys and salmon and then giving them to family and friends.

Eldon is survived by his wife, Jean; son Andrew (Jacqui) Grimm and grandson, Kody Matthew of Ashland, WI; mother, Kathryn Grimm, Wisconsin Rapids; brother Larry (Gloria) Grimm of Laramie, WY; sisters Karen Sieger of Kaukauna, WI; Beverly (Jim) Hawke of Wisconsin Rapids and Carol (Richard) Olsen of Vesper, WI; Sister in-laws Lorraine Abbott of Wisconsin Rapids; Jonnie Kussman of Bellevue, WA; Delores (Thomas) Reffner of Rudolph, WI; Arlene (Greg) Martin Sun City, AZ; Delores Grimm of Delaware; Barb Grimm of Wisconsin Rapids; brother in-laws Stanley (MaryAnn) Johnson of Stantonville, TN, Ronald (Jackie) Johnson of Bellevue, WA and Richard Maeder of Wisconsin Rapids. Also, many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Eldon was preceded in death by son Cpl. Matthew Grimm; mother and father in-law John and Ruth Johnson; father Victor Grimm Sr., sister in-laws: Marilyn Maeder, Sandra Grimm and Delores Grimm, four brothers Robert Grimm, Victor Grimm Jr., Ronald Grimm, Fred Grimm, brother in-laws: Norman Abbott, Leonard Sieger and Lyle Kussman.

Eldon is now at peace and pain free with his Heavenly Father and son Matthew.
