Irene Jane Barrett Bodily

March 8, 1925 - May 18, 2018

After almost 40 years, Irene Jane Barrett Bodily was reunited with her eternal companion, Ned James Bodily on May 18, 2018.

Irene was born on March 8, 1925 to Oscar and Elizabeth Stumpf Barrett in Mendon, UT. She was the sixth of seven children, (Ivan J Barrett, Mozelle Sorenson, Inez Hill, Theta Thackeray, Geneva Olsen, and Stanley D Barrett). She lived most of her life in Mendon, Utah. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints to the Western States Mission. This is where she met Ned. She would later serve a mission to the Louisville Kentucky Mission.

Irene and Ned were married in the Logan Temple on June 2, 1950. She worked at Thiokol, Logan City School District, and for 25 years sold Home Interiors and Gifts. She taught flower arranging at USU. She loved to dance, decorate, sew, play games, and paint with oils on canvas. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Lee Bodily and grandson Allan Bodily.

*She is survived by her 4 children, 25 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 2 more expected.

We would like to thank the staff at the Williamsburg Retirement Center, especially Lizbeth, Samantha and Victoria and the staff at Rocky Mountain Care and Hospice for their love and care of Irene.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Nyman Funeral Home located at 753 South 100 East, Logan, UT.

A viewing will be held Monday, May 21, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nyman Funeral Home and again prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Interment will be in the Mendon City Cemetery.
