Patty J. Smith, 83, of Middletown, passed away on June 23, 2018. She was born on November 9, 1934 in Hindman, Kentucky, the daughter of the late James and Maggie Smith (Clarification added by Darrell Smith (48704568) "Daughter of James "Jems" Smith and Maggie Bolen")
Patty was an elementary school teacher at Poasttown Elementary, retiring after 31 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Franklin and enjoyed spending her time painting, working with various arts & crafts and working in her yard. Patty also loved the beach, Myrtle Beach was especially dear to her.
She was a devoted grandmother who adored her grandchildren and spoiling them. Patty is survived by her loving sons, Dexter (Betty) Smith & Dr. J. Michael (Sharon) Smith; her grandchildren, Lincoln, Harrison & Olivia; and her sister, Katherine Smith. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John R. Smith; and her siblings, Edgar Smith, Amos Smith, Luna Jones, Audrey Smith, Marjorie Gose, Zelma Profitt & Raymond Smith.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
