She was born July 12, 1930 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of the late Dale and Anna (Campbell) McCoy. She married Julius Wayne Ray in April 1949. He preceded her in death June 25, 2000.
Survivors include a son, Tony (Carolyn) Ray of St. Petersburg, Florida; a daughter, Irene (Dale) Greenlee of Danville; a brother, Jack McCoy of Vermilion, Illinois; four sisters, Charlotte Searcy of Louisville, Kentucky, Barbara Hoopingarner of West Terre Haute, Indiana, Shirley Mace of Vermilion, Illinois, and Emma (Cleo) Spickard of Danville; four grandchildren, Todd (Chana) Ray of Tuscola, Illinois, Jeff Ray of San Diego, California, Scott (Jami) Greenlee of Tilton, Illinois, and Susan (Andy) Mixon of Oxford, Georgia; five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Brooke, and Christian Ray, and Madison and Makenna Greenlee; a great-grandson, Asher; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Bennie, and Jimmie McCoy and six sisters, Juanita McLain, Ellen Nickles, Maxine Ridener, Dorothy Bogard, Virginia Walden, and Betty Canada.
Mrs. Ray dearly loved spending time with her family, especially for their weekly “Monday Night at the Movies.”
