Barbara Jean Hoopingarner passed away Sunday February 5 at the age of 90. She passed in her home of 70 years where she lived with her daughter JoAnn Bendzsa and grandson Lucus Bendzsa. She leaves behind her sons Gary Hoopingarner and Dennis Hoopingarner, her daughters JoAnn Bendzsa and Pearl Perez, brother Jackie McCoy, sisters Shirley Mace and Emma Spickard, son-in-law Tom Kesler, and many grandkids and great grandkids. In Heaven she will be joining her late husband George Hoopingarner, daughter Peggy Kesler, son Alfred Berry, and 14 brothers and sisters.

Barbara was raised in Vermillion Illinois in 1932 to Dale and Anna McCoy. She was a devoted homemaker and helped raise numerous kids, grandkids, and foster kids. Barbara enjoyed having family always within a walking distance, some of them even leaving a path in the yard. She enjoyed canning, gardening, attending church, and baking apple pies for her loved ones.

Her public viewing will be Saturday from 11:00AM-1:00PM hosted by Greiner Funeral Home at New Life Fellowship. The funeral will immediately follow. Burial will follow at Vermillion Cemetery. Please keep Barbara and the family in your prayers.
