In 1972, she co-founded and operated J & R Educational Supplies with her husband, Jean, where she faithfully served customers throughout the region for more than 30 years. During this time, Rosemary developed a special bond with the teachers, parents, and students who frequented her store. By utilizing a combination of classroom experience, keen customer service skills, and boundless energy and creativity, she built a business that would eventually be passed down to the next generation of Martins, thus fulfilling her legacy.
In addition to enjoying her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Rosemary and Jean were fond of dancing, including ballroom dancing, Cajun dancing, and clogging, and belonged to several dance clubs in the area. In their retirement, they also began to travel and were fortunate to visit many of the country’s most popular destinations. Throughout her life, Rosemary was a dedicated parishioner of the Catholic faith.
