Carl retired from the Xerox Corporation as an engineering specialist. He and his wife Joan enjoyed traveling, and he was a veracious reader and a tenacious chess player.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Warmath Chambers Sr. (1896-1965) and Lila Mae Nelson Chambers, and his sister, Margaret Hardison (1928-1974); Find A Grave Memorial# 190811724.
Paternal Grandparents: Robert Thomas Chambers (1843-1921) and Mary Ella Warmoth Chambers (1868-1952) of Gibson County, Tennessee.
Maternal Grandparents: William S. Nelson (1873-1930) and Cora Ayer Nelson (1873-1952) of Georgia.
Survivors include Carl's wife of 63 years, Dr. Joan Gardiner Chambers; two children, Rita Schoenherr (Rick) and Dale Chambers (Cathy); and two granddaughters, Lauren and Alyssa Chambers.
Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
