He was born in Alford, Florida, a son of Earl Daniels and Elvia Arlington Daniels.
"Country" was a member of First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner and also a member of Berkeley Country Club. He was a graduate of North Charleston High School where he participated in football and baseball. As well as being an avid golfer, he also enjoyed fishing and hunting, where he had been a member of Wassamassaw Hunting Club.
Surviving are his daughter - Wendy Barnette and her husband, Mark, of St. Stephen; 3 sisters - Katrina Sorenson and her husband, Al, of San Diego, CA; Martha Veno and her husband, Leroy, of Summerville; and Elaine Poore and her husband, Billy, of Locust Grove, PA; brother - Ronnie Daniels and his wife, Donna, of Florida; granddaughter - Lisa B. Smith and her husband, Dennis, of Moncks Corner; 2 great granddaughters - Victoria Barnette and Page Smith; 2 step grandsons - Matthew and Nathan Smith; aunt - Audrey Hayes of NJ; brother-in-law Harry Austin and his wife, Sis, of Pinopolis; 6 nieces; 4 nephews; his companion, Linda L. Fincher; and many special friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Vonda Lynn Daniels; step-mom, Louise Daniels and step father, Elmer Melvin.
