Daniel Holman was born on Osage, 5 miles south of Berry ville, Carroll county, Ark., on August 12, 1836. He moved to Madison county, Ark., when ten years old. He was married to Miss Margaret Bowser, in 1862. He moved back to this county just west of Berryville, in 1903, where he died on January 3, 1907.
He leaves a widow and eight children living, one child dead; 34 grandchildren living, and nine dead; and six great grandchildren living. Mr. Holman was a good citizen and had the good will of all.

By March 8, 1907, his widow and sons John, William, Albert and daughter Missie Littrell had moved to Oregon:
John H. Holman, jr., and family, accompanied by his brothers William and Albert, their mother Mrs. Margurete Holman, John and Missie Littrell, expect to leave for Oregon next Tuesday to reside.
